Assessment & evaluation have become inevitable components of any advanced educational system. Teachers shall be part of a knowledge base system that effectively contributes to the development of students, curriculum instruction & school. However, teachers are not being able to actively take their roles in such a system due to the following reasons: First, teachers don't have enough time (during the academic year) to involve in an intensive process of analysis and evaluation of their students performance and achievement. Second, even if they got the time, they lack the required tools. In an attempt to overcome the above stated obstacles, Advanced Educational Technology s.a.l developed an educational technology application, Teacher Tools 2.4. As its name indicates, it is a set of integrated tools (item banking, testing, assessment and reporting) that is a must for every teacher in the 21st century.
Such an application will certainly pave the way towards data-driven decision-making from now on. Moreover, we believe that it will lay the ground work for assessment to be, in practice, an integral part of learning that not only measures learning but enhances it and improves instruction as well.
